College Care Packages
If you or your student would like to receive a college care packet from the church, please send the address to cschulte@fumcbirmingham.org. As we begin a new school year, please submit the address even if it is the same as last year. The first packet will be prepared on September 21, so please make sure to send addresses to Chris by September 14. If you would like to donate an item and/or help assemble the care packets, please contact Sue Smith at sue.smith@beachcom.net.
CLC Annual Updates & Cleaning
The Christian Life Center (CLC) will be closed for the month of August for deep cleaning and updates to the facility and equipment. We appreciate your understanding as we take this time to refresh the space for a great fall season ahead. The CLC will reopen on September 8 and we look forward to welcoming you back during our fall hours: Monday–Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. during Pickleball Leagues.
Acolyte Ministry Program is now accepting new acolytes!

Acolyting is a meaningful leadership experience for children in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade. This role offers a unique opportunity to take an active part in worship by lighting the Christ candles at the beginning of our services in the main sanctuary. As acolytes, children will wear a special robe and cotta provided for them. This important role not only enhances the worship experience but also often becomes a treasured part of their children’s church journey. We generally ask our acolytes to commit to one Sunday per month from September to May. If your child is considering becoming an acolyte, please contact Dayna Ratliff at dratliff@fumcbirmingham.org for further information.

Join the Birmingham First Tech Team!
Are you interested in learning how livestreaming works and helping bring worship and special events to our online community? We’re looking for volunteers to join the Birmingham First Tech Team! Open to anyone middle school aged and older, this is a great opportunity to develop new skills and serve the church in a meaningful way. No experience necessary—training will be provided. Youth workers or volunteers engage with children to help them grow in faith, build strong fellowship, and have fun together.
